Movie Progress

Since I was really bored yesterday morning when I woke up and realized I slept through the alarm... I started writing an outline for the movie I plan on making over the summer. It started with just an idea for the antagonist's voice... then mutated and formed into an actual story. It's not supposed to be taken seriously, even though the plot is somewhat serious. Think of it like Evil Dead or Army of Darkness. A serious storyline with so many quips and jokes that it's hard to be taken seriously. I'm totally fine with making a silly movie... it'll be a good experience either way.

The story is about a nerdy guy who seems to have nothing going for him in his life. While spending time with his friends one night, he gets a strange phone call telling him to get home. He neglects the warning and is captured by a strange man dressed in all black. When he wakes up, the man tells him that there is a lot more to the galaxy than he could possibly imagine and that most of Earth's science fiction stories are based on reality, just out of Earth's reach.

The man tells him that there are special beings in the galaxy who have power over the very fabric of the universe and can control that power with the will to do so. The man in black says that he is one of them, and he hunts the others down. The protagonist is then sent into a forest in search of a weapon to defend himself with.

I won't give any more of the story away, but I know that the outline is done except for a title, character names, and any minor changes I feel like making. After that, I just have to script it out and cast the roles. I think if anything, I'll most likely play the bad guy or at least choreograph the fight scenes. Since I'm the only one of my friends with video production experience, I know I'll be doing all of the editing and probably the camera work as well.

I think the script may have to wait for a while though... 18 credit hours leaves me with a weekly mountain of homework. And there's always the other stuff outside of school I have to do like work and whatnot.
